Rourke Refuses to Apologize for Gay Slurs
I've been doing a bunch of sports postings, actually just baseball, because I've been lazy. This article has hit a nerve (link above).
If you haven't read the article, Mickey Rourke called some gossip columnist a fagget. Now gay and lesbian associations or activist groups are calling for an apology.
I am so tired of this shit. People have to tiptoe (this really isn't someone tiptoeing, this is a drunk Rourke calling out some reporter wannabe) around what they say. My problem is Rourke wasn't using the word as a slur against someone from the GLBT community. He was using it in the same sense of calling someone an a-hole. Shut up! The intentions are what are important. Just like in a criminal trial, you need motive.
I also hate, and I mean hate more than Bret Farve hates the Packers management, more than people who play WOW hate dial-up internet connections, I hate the phrase (I'm going to paraphrase - so eat me): You're not one of us, we can say that/that word/that phrase, you cannot. I'm telling you this world will be a better place as soon as we get beyond this stupid idea.
The world would also be better once it's becomes normal for women to walk around topless and... wait a minute, only hot women, no chunkers. Chubby women need love too but only behind closed doors.
